A pedestrian walking in a crosswalk next to Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence reportedly was struck and killed by a Peter Pan bus at 8 AM this morning.  The Providence-based driver was heading East on Washington St. before turning North onto East Approach Street.  The accident is under investigation by Peter Pan Bus Lines safety director Christopher Crean, as well as State officials.   “Excellent driver, good safety record”, said Christopher Crean. “He’s horrified about this whole thing and having a tough time.” According to safety records, Peter Pan had six bus accidents in the past two years. It puts the Springfield-based company at a “satisfactory” rating.
