New York City’s 70-yr. old Port Authority Bus Terminal has finally introduced their final architectural renderings of the future building which will be built on the current footprint location at 40th-42nd Street and Eighth avenue. The projected finish of the project is year 2030.
The new building will feature wider ramps and increases in roadway ceiling height for double-deck busses, or large articulated busses. Also projected are designs for autonomous (driverless) bus loading zones (for example a rotating shuttle bus to/from the Javits Center)
